"I didn’t find myself in other cities, while I only can find it in Changsha, " said Zain Braiq, a Yemeni professor at Changsha University, expressing his heartfelt love for the city when receiving an interview.

去長(zhǎng)沙還是去其他城市,？在求學(xué)和職業(yè)生涯中,，荷西面臨很多次抉擇，最終,，他都堅(jiān)定地選擇了長(zhǎng)沙,。

Changsha or another city? Throughout Zain's academic journey and professional career, he encountered this question quite a few times. Ultimately, however, he firmly chose Changsha.

"The world is vast, and the Changsha city is my home now." The deep affection of Zain for the city goes beyond imagination. Having lived in Changsha for over eight years, he says that there are two key elements he values most: freedom and growth.

荷西與長(zhǎng)沙的緣分,，始于氣候。

The story between Zain and Changsha began with the weather.

2013年,，荷西來到中國,，在沈陽攻讀碩士學(xué)位。

In 2013, Zain came to China to pursue a master’s degree in Shenyang.

彼時(shí),，出于對(duì)故鄉(xiāng)的思念,，荷西一直在尋覓與家鄉(xiāng)氣候特征相似的城市繼續(xù)讀博,。在好友的推薦下，他來到了長(zhǎng)沙,?！奥犝f長(zhǎng)沙是‘火爐城市’，正好適合我,?！焙晌餍χf。

At that time, due to his longing for his hometown, Zain was looking for a city with similar climate features to continue his PhD studies. After being recommended by a friend, he came to Changsha. "I heard that Changsha was the furnace of China, which is just perfect for me, " Zain smiled.

2016年秋天,，荷西首次踏上長(zhǎng)沙這片充滿活力的土地,，開啟在湖南大學(xué)的求學(xué)征程。未曾想,，那一刻起,，他與長(zhǎng)沙羈絆的種子就已生根發(fā)芽，并在日后長(zhǎng)成繁茂的大樹,。

In the autumn of 2016, Zain firstly arrived in this vibrant city of Changsha and embarked on his academic journey at Hunan University. Little did he know that the seed of his bond with Changsha had already taken root and begun to grow from that moment on, eventually becoming a thriving tree.

“我很幸運(yùn)，在攻讀博士期間結(jié)識(shí)了多位學(xué)識(shí)淵博的教授,。在共事期間,，他們幫助我成長(zhǎng)了很多,?！闭勂鹱约涸诼瓷侥_下的求學(xué)之旅,，荷西滔滔不絕,。

"I was lucky enough to work with knowledgeable professors during my PhD studies. While working with them, they helped me grow a lot, " Zain said enthusiastically about his academic journey at the foot of Yuelu Mountain.

Whether it was delving deeply into academic topics or working on research projects together, Zain felt the friendliness of the professors. "They shared their valuable experience and knowledge with me, greatly helping me grow faster in my knowledge. This gave me the confidence to move to the next step."

獲得博士學(xué)位后,，荷西選擇繼續(xù)留在湖南大學(xué)擔(dān)任博士后研究員，致力于二氧化碳（CO2）催化解析主題的研究,?！拔伊粝聛淼脑蛑唬褪俏以陂L(zhǎng)沙進(jìn)行研究時(shí)能得到足夠的自由和空間,?！焙晌髡f，每當(dāng)他有新的想法,，團(tuán)隊(duì)和導(dǎo)師都會(huì)給予充足的支持,。

After obtaining his PhD, Zain stayed at Hunan University as a postdoctoral researcher, focusing on research into the catalytic decomposition of carbon dioxide (CO2). "One of the reasons why I chose to stay was that I got enough freedom and space to conduct my research in Changsha, " Zain said. Every time he had a new idea, his team and mentor provided ample support.

“湖南大學(xué)提供了實(shí)驗(yàn)室資源,，我可以自由地開展自己想做的任何事情。甚至如何將想法轉(zhuǎn)化為產(chǎn)品進(jìn)行落地,，他們也會(huì)助我一臂之力,。”荷西說,，長(zhǎng)沙對(duì)科研創(chuàng)新的扶持力度,，讓他求學(xué)的過程充滿了幸福感，“母校還輔助我成功入職長(zhǎng)沙學(xué)院,，讓我成為了一名副教授,。”

"Hunan University provided me with laboratory resources, allowing me to freely do whatever I want to do. They even helped me transfer my ideas into the final products or to the real life, " shared by Zain. The support for scientific innovation in Changsha made his study period full of happiness, he added. "The university also helped me to successfully switch to Changsha University, where I worked as an associate professor."

“長(zhǎng)沙以其深厚的歷史文化聞名,。我還在湖南大學(xué)讀書的時(shí)候,，就去了岳麓書院不下十次?！背肆己玫目蒲蟹諊?，荷西對(duì)于長(zhǎng)沙的文脈底蘊(yùn)也非常推崇。

"Changsha is famous for its rich historical and cultural heritage. I went to Yuelu Academy in Hunan University at least ten times while I was still a student there, " Zain shared to the reporter. Besides the good research atmosphere, he also highly praised the cultural heritage of Changsha.

星城獨(dú)特的“山水洲城”風(fēng)貌,，更是深得其心,。荷西還記得，有一次他和朋友站在湘江邊的高樓窗前,，看著眼前洲浮江心的美景,，他忍不住說：“我愛長(zhǎng)沙！”

The unique landscape of  "mountains, rivers, islands and a city" in Changsha truly captivates Zain. One day, while he and his friends were standing by the window of a tall building overlooking the Xiangjiang River in the city, they admired the stunning view of islands gracefully floating on the water. Overwhelmed by the beauty around him, Zain couldn't help but exclaim with enthusiasm, "I love Changsha!"

如今,，荷西一家四口定居在月湖公園附近,。工作之余，他總會(huì)帶著家人四處游覽,?！伴L(zhǎng)沙有太多好玩的地方了,，而且風(fēng)格都不重復(fù)?！弊罱?，他和家人就去了好幾次李自健美術(shù)館看展覽，“像李自健美術(shù)館這樣的寶藏展館,，長(zhǎng)沙有很多,，我們?nèi)叶挤浅Ｏ矚g?！?/p>

Nowadays, Zain and his family have settled near Yuehu Park. In his spare time, he always takes his family on sightseeing trips. "There are too many fun places to visit in Changsha, and each one has its own unique style, " he said. Recently, he and his family have visited the Li Ziqian Art Museum several times to enjoy exhibitions. "There are many must-visit exhibition halls like Li Ziqian Art Museum in Changsha, and our whole family likes them very much, " he added.

從拓寬的城市道路到完善的基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施,，從豐富的高校資源到多樣化的公共空間……說起長(zhǎng)沙的變化,，荷西用“巨大”來形容?！伴L(zhǎng)沙是中國發(fā)展最快的城市之一,。”每當(dāng)他從其他城市回到長(zhǎng)沙,，總能發(fā)現(xiàn)各方面的“華麗蛻變”,，并且蛻變的速度出乎想象的快。

From widened urban roads to improved infrastructure, from rich educational resources to diverse public spaces... When it comes to Changsha's changes, Zain uses the word "major". "Changsha is one of the fastest-growing cities in China, " he noted. Every time he returns to Changsha from another city, he always finds various "amazing transformations" and the speed of transformation is beyond his imagination.

“長(zhǎng)沙做出了很多努力來提升自己,，這對(duì)我來說就很有吸引力，也給了我信心,，自己能與這些改變一同成長(zhǎng),。”這讓荷西堅(jiān)定了留在長(zhǎng)沙的決心,，也讓他對(duì)城市未來的發(fā)展充滿期待,。

"A lot of efforts have been made to improve the Changsha city. It' s really attractive to me and it gives me hope that I grow up with these changes." This conviction strengthened Zain' s determination to remain in Changsha and heightened his anticipation for the city' s future development.

“世界很大，長(zhǎng)沙是家,?！焙晌髡f，他在全世界很多城市生活過,，只有長(zhǎng)沙,，能在實(shí)現(xiàn)個(gè)人追求的同時(shí)，還為他提供“找到自我”的空間,。

"The world is vast, and the Changsha city is my home now, " Zain stated. He has lived in many cities in the world, but only in Changsha has he found a place where he can pursue his personal goals while also finding a sense of self.

目前,，長(zhǎng)沙進(jìn)一步加大引進(jìn)高端海外人才力度，廣泛鏈接國際人才資源,。荷西也在積極申請(qǐng)外國人永久居留身份證,，希望能真正實(shí)現(xiàn)留在長(zhǎng)沙的愿望,。“畢竟,，現(xiàn)在我的兩個(gè)孩子愛長(zhǎng)沙菜勝過也門菜了,。”荷西笑著說,，“他們和我一樣,，融入長(zhǎng)沙、愛上長(zhǎng)沙,，并堅(jiān)定地選擇了長(zhǎng)沙,。

Currently, Changsha is further stepping up its efforts to attract high-end overseas talent and widely collect international talent resources. Zain is also actively applying for a permanent residence ID card for foreigners, hoping to truly realize his dream of staying in Changsha. "After all, now my two kids love the food of Changsha, much more than our Yemeni food, " Zain said with a smile. "They are just like me, embracing Changsha and falling in love with it, and wholeheartedly choosing to make it our home."
