On August 10, the 2024 Changsha Culture & Tourism Promotion Event was launched in Bristol City, the UK. The delegation from the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, and Television unveiled a customized hot air balloon with the theme of “Happy Changsha, Charming Star City” at the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta 2024 that evening. The new cartoon figure of Changsha’s cultural tourism “Baby Spark” on the hot air balloon caught numerous eyes on the site.

Yi Ying, director of Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, and Television, introduced Changsha’s rich cultural tourism resources and characteristic products at the event, inviting the British people and tourism practitioners to experience personally the unique charm and cuisine of Changsha as well as the hospitable local people.

Tens of thousands of spectators witnessed the ascent of Changsha’s hot air balloon on the spot. So far, it was the first time for cities on the Chinese mainland to fly a hot air balloon of their image in Europe. The Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, and Television promptly expressed their gratitude to Ambassador Zheng Zeguang for his promotion of Changsha and further warmly extended invitations for guests from all over the world to visit Changsha.
